Professors

Cristiano Bigonha Tibiriçá is a professor of mechanical engineering at University of São Paulo in São Carlos since 2014. He obtained a Mechanical Engineering BSc in 2004 and a PhD at 2011 at EESC-USP and worked as Doctoral assistant at LTCM-EPFL, Lausanne. His research interests cover two-phase flow, boiling phase change phenomena in micro-scale conditions, multiple-phase-change process, heat pipes, applications with compact heat exchangers refrigeration and compact and efficient thermal power generation. He has published high cited papers in the subject over the last years.

Gherhardt Ribatski is a professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. He received his Ph.D. at the University of São Paulo, Brazil in 2002. He was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a post-doctoral researcher in the Laboratory of Heat and Mass Transfer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. His research interests cover nanofluids, pool boiling, falling-film evaporation and condensation, two-phase flow, boiling and condensation of external and internal flow, and convective evaporation and condensation in micro-scale channels. He has published two book chapters and more than 70 papers on two-phase flow and heat transfer.

Luben Cabezas Gomes is a professor at Mechanical Engineering Department at São Carlos School of Engineering from University of São Paulo He has bachelor in mechanical engineering with specialization in boilers and nuclear reactors in the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (1994), master degree (1999) and doctorate (2003) in mechanical engineering by the University of São Paulo both in thermal and fluid science area. He has worked mainly with simulations of thermal systems and heat exchangers, numerical modeling using computational fluid dynamics, hermetic compressors, absorption and vapor compression refrigeration systems, gas-solid two phase flow in fluidized bed and two –phase gas-liquid heat exchanger with phase change.
